You will be part of the Strategic Partnerships department and report to the Head of Strategic Partnerships. The department also includes a Sida Grants Manager and a Policy Advisor for Business and Human Rights.
Purpose Of The Role
The purpose of the role is to develop and strengthen Oxfam’s relationship with Sida. The role will contribute to the International Oxfam Confederation by providing an analysis of Sida’s strategies and Swedish Aid policy to guide Oxfam in prepositioning a long-term strategy. Donor Engagement activities will also be an important part of the role.
Primary Areas Of Work
- Continuously develop analysis of Sida’s strategies by closely following the strategic priorities of the agency and the Swedish government; gathering intel to support prepositioning and a long term strategy for Oxfam
- Prepositioning with Sida for potential new opportunities, both using existing relations and looking for new opportunities also based on input from regional offices/country offices and HQ input
- Disseminating expert knowledge of the donors’ funding modalities, trends and concrete funding opportunities, ways of working, policies, strategies and planning cycles to the organization and countries in which Oxfam operate
- Facilitate meetings with Sida staff, arrange webinars and seminars together with Sida or for Sida staff
- Participate in relevant Swedish civil society groups
- Facilitate Oxfam´s engagement with Team Sweden, particularly Business Sweden, in relation to Oxfam programs
- You advise and support the Oxfam Confederation in meeting and exceeding its institutional donor funding targets related to Sida
- You accompany, coordinate or lead teams in the bid process (develop bid plans, review drafts, template development, etc) the wider Oxfam Confederation
- Attending monthly confederation meetings and closely coordinating with counterparts in the Confederation responsible for their office´s Sida account
Required Competencies
- Experience from working with Sida, including proven knowledge, successful engagement, raising funds and/or contract management experience with Sida
- Rooted in Swedish civil society, knowledgeable about institutional fundraising for NGOs from institutional donors including overall funding trends
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize, meet deadlines, and hold self and others to account
- Proven experience in representing an organization to institutional donors at senior level
- Strong networking, representational, and negotiation skills including ability to work effectively with others persuading, influencing and supporting, following as required in order to achieve fundraising targets
- Good communication skills, with proven ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including remote collaboration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Swedish and English
- Applicants must be nationals of a European Union member State or have a valid work permit for the European Union and have your residence in Stockholm, Sweden
Valued Competencies
- Knowledge in other languages eg. as French and Spanish
